Runner Registration
Registration will open at 7.30am in Shepton Mallet market place, which is in the town centre BA4 5AZ.
At registration, runners will be given an individual race number, which will need to be pinned to your clothing. Safety pins will be provided and there will be tables to use. These numbers must be worn in a prominent position on the front of your body throughout the race and will be used to identify runners at checkpoints and at the finish. Your race number has your race chip attached – please do not tamper with this as it could affect our ability to record your race time.
Registration will close for each race wave 30 minutes before the race start time.

- 11.00am start – registration closes at 10.30am Blue

Please ensure you know your start time and allow plenty of time for you and for us.
The Start
The 8½ mile and 3 mile routes both start in fields at the end of Draycott Road, BA4 5HT. Allow 15 minutes to walk to the start line from registration.
Please do not go too near the start line before your race. If you want to go to the start line to see the 10.30am runners start but are registered to start at 11.00am, please stay at least 20 metres from the start or your race chip could activate that you have started your race and your race time will be incorrect.
Please be at the start line at least 15 minutes before your race start – this will give us the opportunity to give a race briefing where necessary and also get some good photos!
Toilets
There are no toilets at the start. Please use public toilets in Commercial Road car park or the event’s temporary toilets in the market place, by the Amulet.
Water Stations

Families are welcome to bring children, on the walk and on the 3 mile trail race. Children must be accompanied by adults and remain their responsibility at all times.
General information
There’s no dedicated changing area or baggage storage facility. The routes are both in excess of 80% trail, trail shoes are advisable for running – some of the sections will be quite muddy.

The route will be well signed with no requirement to study the route prior to the event. If you would like to see a map of the route, it is available on the ‘Trail Race’ page. There will also be a map at the start.

Boxty Feast
Race entry and food sales are in advance only. There will be no sales available on the day but there will be food available from Cheeky Bean, Domino’s Pizza and Rosemary Greek.
Boxty will be served in the Market Place from 12 noon until 1pm.
Ticket holders for the boxty feast will be issued with a token at the Pilton Cider tent, in the market place.
Ticks
Due to the temperature creeping up, we are just moving into the months when ticks are more prevalent. The route passes through woodlands and grasslands, so particularly if you wear shorts on race day, it is worth checking yourself over after the event.
Dogs
We ask that runners do not bring dogs, for risk of others tripping over them or their leads. The route is narrow and precarious in places.
Walkers are welcome to bring dogs and should follow the countryside code.
